Walk by Faith

Last year, i ran the capitol 10K in Austin which was truly one of the highlights of my year.  Austin is such a beautiful and quirky city and it its' in full bloom on both counts for the Capitol 10K where thousands come to run, walk, dance or cheer as folks make their way on the 6.2 mile course.

This year, i am believing god to give me the strength after 3 brain surgeries to walk it --and stephanie and sue are organizing a Walk by Faith outing for families and individuals to join us.  We intend to use it as a thanksgiving back to Him, and to worship him and share his goodness with those around us.

details from Steph:

The main reason I'm writing tonight is to invite you join us for the Capital 10K on March 25th.  David and I were praying the other morning and he read the verse in Hebrews: Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.  Heb 12:1-2.  I had this vision of us at the Cap 10K where everyone is on the sidelines cheering you on and how the angels in heaven must be cheering us all on when we are running the good race.

So, we would like to invite anyone who is walking through this with us, loves us, prays for us, supports us, etc to come and join us in the 10K on March 25th.  We will be doing the fun walk and we want it to be a Walk by Faith event.  This race/event isn't about David so much as it will be us all being together in a "faith walk" so to speak.  We are all walking by faith in some measure and we know we cannot please God without faith.  David, Jonah and I will be walking as a testimony to David walking out his healing. So, we thought we could all meet and walk together with a Walk by Faith t-shirt and maybe even sing some songs along the way.  The race is on a Sunday morning so our assembling of ourselves together will be kind of like a church on a walk.

We're going to be looking into the cost of t-shirts and so if you think you'd like to join us you can send Sue an email at sue@dromanwatch.com and let her know.  If you all want to invite someone or tell someone you know who knows us who isn't on this list, please invite them.  It'll probably get posted on a blog, too.  BTW, we want to whole family to come and we'll look into kids t-shirts, too.  We thought big, bold letters on the back would be best.  WALK BY FAITH  If anyone knows a good quality t-shirt company or has an inside track on this, let Sue know.

David and I will get home on or about  March 6th, I think, and will have a couple of weeks before the race.  Click on this link to register for the race and choose the fun walk/run untimed if you want to join us.  There is a discount if you sign up in the next few days.  http://www.statesman.com/cap10k/registration-947083.html

Join us!
